Allow me to share with you why it is that I started Teach’s Class of Metal: To help, aid, and support heavy metal artists, bands, and the global heavy metal community as a whole. While I aspire to eventually make my living solely through writing, at present, I am still only building my career, and in today’s internet driven world, that requires writing for essentially nothing until you’re either hired to write for someone else, or until your own venture becomes big enough to garner revenue through advertising and sponsorships. Taking all that into consideration, I would like to take a moment to state that Teach’s Class of Metal will always and forever ONLY post news, reviews, and interviews that aid and support heavy metal artists, bands, labels, and anyone or anything else that has to do with the metal community in general. I AM HERE TO HELP, NOT HURT!
Some websites, magazines, and webzines that are dedicated to the genre of heavy metal (or at least touch on the genre from time to time) today seem to follow the old adage of “Any publicity is good publicity,” and share, post, or include articles in their periodicals that seem to be only published for the sensationalist copy they provide for their readers. Articles about Randy Blythe’s “burning phallus” or Nergal’s tweets while being detained by Russian police and border agents over an incorrect visa may be entertaining, sure, but they certainly aren’t helping the artists nearly as much as sharing their updates about their time in the studio, posting a supportive piece about their latest work, or any other articles and posts of a positive, benevolent nature that periodicals and webzines can choose to share with their audiences. Let me promise you right now, my friends and readers, you will NEVER see any posts or articles of this nature on Teach’s Class of Metal. Period. If you began following me or “liked” me on Facebook with the hopes that I would share gossip and gobbledygook like this, then I hate to disappoint you, but better you hear it from me now rather than later.
Thank you for joining me on my quest to build a solid and dignified writing career through aiding the world of metal, and if you enjoy what you’ve experienced so far on Teach’s Class of Metal, tell your friends, share my pages, and help keep the positivity flowing for the good of all metal heads everywhere!
Keep it metal, class dismissed!
